Sapokka makes for the next stop on the list for those eager to explore the wonders of Finland. Located in the center of Kotka, the Sapokka area is a perfectly designed water park that forms a marine cove in Kotkansaari. Construction on the park lasted four years from 1990 to 1994 and is maintained daily by the parks grounds department. Along with a stroll through the park, visitors can expect to see stunning rock structures as well as various animal sculptures complemented by the calm waters and ideal lighting shining through the lush and full flora. There is much to appreciate here and microclimates and habitats sectioned with the purpose to thrive on required conditions such as shade versus direct sunlight or moisture areas versus drier. Visiting Sapokka is something most who know of it dream of. However, so is the next stop on the list, which makes the most of cold conditions, and starting next year, year round.
